Course Duration

The IOSH Managing Safely in Construction course online takes approximately 24 hours to complete in the participant’s own time. Most people complete the course in less than 3 months.

Course Instructions

Please familiarise yourself with the course instructions below:

  1. An internet/WIFI connection is required – broadband wired or wireless. A 4G or 5G data signal is NOT suitable as signal coverage can drop and affect the recording of your course completion. We would also recommend you complete this course on a PC or laptop as there can be compatibility issues with some older models of smartphones.
  2. Should you launch the course, get distracted and return to it sometime later, please ensure you exit, log out and back in again and relaunch it. We advise this in case the system timed out while you stepped away, which would result in the system not recording your course completion.
  3. Please ensure you click all areas of the course when prompted to do so. The continue button to progress through to the next stage will only then become active.

Assessment and Certification

At the end of the course there are two assessments:

  1. A multiple-choice assessment to complete consisting of 30 questions.
  2. The requirement to submit a risk assessment of their workplace or a setting of their choice.

Certification

On successful completion of the course, participants will receive an IOSH Managing Safely in Construction certificate.
